Dave Wilson’s tax policy practice actively lobbies legislators, regulators, and decision-makers across the political spectrum to advocate for clients’ tax and pension interests.
On Capitol Hill, our tax policy lawyers and advisors engage with members of Congress and their staff on the House Committee on Ways and Means, the Senate Finance Committee, and the Joint Committee on Taxation. We also collaborate closely with key figures at the Department of the Treasury and, when necessary, the White House.
Our team includes two former tax counsels, one of whom served as chief counsel for the Ways and Means Committee, while the other was the Staff Director of the Subcommittee on Select Revenue Measures. With their prior Hill experience, our policy practice members are well-connected with influential contacts who shape U.S. tax policy.
Collaboration is central to our practice, ensuring that matters receive thorough consideration and are strategically managed to meet client interests and achieve their goals. Our team's experience, combined with a deep understanding of tax issues, allows us to interpret technical information for Congress and other government branches, navigate complex codes, and make compelling arguments. This expertise also translates into meaningful, informed responses for our clients.
With significant tax activity currently underway in Congress, our team continuously monitors developments on Capitol Hill to identify opportunities and challenges for our clients. Additionally, practice members with multidisciplinary, policy-related roles enhance our understanding of the political landscape, ensuring comprehensive support for our clients.
